Le Mondial du Bâtiment is one of the leading international events for the building and construction sector, and takes place in Paris every two years. It showcases an all-encompassing look at the latest major changes to the sector. The next edition will be held in November 2019.

Players in the construction and building industry face constant challenges. They need to continuously work to defend their interests, innovate to exist, adapt to regulatory requirements, manage sector industrialisation, successfully carry out their digital transition, contribute to training and job development and communicate with increasingly large communities.

Today, the Mondial du Bâtiment is taking on a new dimension to help players in the construction sector with these challenges, with the aim of raising issues and being a voice for the industry even in between editions of the Mondial trade show. Therefore, through continual major actions, the INTERCLIMA, IDÉOBAIN and BATIMAT brands will promote the know-how and innovations of the sector with professionals year-round.

Guillaume LOIZEAUD, Director of Le Mondial du Bâtiment, explains the reasons behind this new dimension: “Together with the owners of the INTERCLIMA, IDÉOBAIN and BATIMAT brands, we saw that to have a strong sector, you need a strong trade show. We decided to leverage the reputation of our brands in between editions in order to help players understand the challenges of the building and construction sector and find solutions to overcome them.”


The 2019 edition of INTERCLIMA is marked by strong new interest from the UNICLIMA trade association and its members to offer unique products and services from the entire HVAC sector, including thermal and ventilation equipment for the tertiary sector, industry, collective housing, residential housing and refrigeration.

Exceptional resources are being put in place to achieve this. The goal is to be an event that brings together an entire sector whose economic impact and job growth are key in effectively influencing public authorities and institutions.

Some of the actions already planned to develop the new INTERCLIMA include:
– Exceptional resources to bring in visitors from outside Paris: 50 buses, 3 hours from Paris and 3 TGV trains will be available for exhibitors;
– A programme of conference sessions will be specifically designed for buyers. Work is already underway in order to identify the expectations of professionals. These sessions will be combined with visitor tours and meetings;
– Specific actions in a dedicated space will showcase the strength of the sector as soon as visitors walk in the door: Innovation Competition, New Technologies, Start-ups, filmed radio set.


To give INTERCLIMA a year-round presence within the sector and with its players, UNICLIMA is making the trade show a key component in new marketing with the creation of “Rendez-vous Interclima par UNICLIMA” (Interclima meetings by UNICLIMA). These technical meetings and information days will take place throughout the year. The first meeting is scheduled to take place in Paris on 5 September 2018, on the theme of “HVAC equipment in E+C- experimentation”.


BATIMAT is launching a major initiative in partnership with the Gimélec trade association: CONSTRUCTION TECH®.

It is designed to help professionals with the digital transformation and industrialisation of the sector, thanks to:

A new sector at BATIMAT, that will combine the largest and most comprehensive range of solutions for smart buildings. The new sector, located in the corridor between Halls 5A and 6 will be dedicated to the acceleration of innovation in the industry.

It will offer a range of solutions and services in partnership with Gimélec, in areas such as:
– The digital transition and its infrastructure,
– Self-consumption,
– Smart building data security,
– Smart and connected buildings,
– Energy storage,
– Artificial intelligence,
– User-centric buildings. 


The CONSTRUCTION TECH® brand will also host activities and events that will help professionals throughout the entire year with the transformation of the sector:
The observatory was created in partnership with Xerfi and will regularly gauge and decipher innovation and new technologies on the construction and real estate markets. Discover its first results in the appended document.

The new Start-up Challenge was specially created to identify innovative start-ups in the building and construction sector and help promote their services.

The Start-up Directory is the only directory of its kind, letting users easily find and contact start-ups in the Construction sector based on their areas of expertise.

The French Village at the Las Vegas CES
CONSTRUCTION TECH® will be the leader of the French Village’s Building & Construction collective at the CES in January 2019.


BATIMAT is continuing its exclusive initiative, Regard sur l’Architecture. Created in 2017, its purpose is to explore the place of residents and users within architectural projects and take a closer look at the changing field of architecture. This project led to a first book and a series of conference sessions at the 2017 BATIMAT trade show.

For its second edition, announced at the Venice Biennale last May, the theme of Regard sur l’Architecture will be “Architectural Desire”. The project will include meetings and events. Publication of the second book is set for September 2019 and will give rise to a series of conference sessions at BATIMAT 2019.


In 2019, BATIMAT will be celebrating its 60th anniversary! Each year has been dedicated to showcasing the latest innovations and promoting manufacturer products, for instance with the Innovation Awards, and all the initiatives that have taken place over the years. It will be the perfect opportunity to look back at the 60 years of innovations that have transformed the construction sector and at what’s in store for the future.


According to a survey conducted by Sociovision for the trade association, Ameublement Français, 8% of French people (aged 15 to 74) declared in 2017 that they were planning to do bathroom renovations in their primary or secondary residence within the next two years. The bathroom market therefore has huge potential.

IDÉOBAIN is where all the bathroom trades meet at the Mondial du Bâtiment, and the best place for installers to find products that meet customer demand and that lead to bathroom projects.

For 2019, IDÉOBAIN has set itself a new goal to become the leading place for architects and decorators to meet, with:

Two new sectors for a larger range of solutions: furnishings and tile;

– A showcase of the latest design trends for bathrooms.


IDÉOBAIN helps create visibility for manufacturers and bathroom brands and promotes innovation with professional and private users. For this, Afisb, owner of the trade show, is planning a series of events in addition to the awards for the most outstanding products.


The Construction Division at Reed Expositions France wants to give the construction sector a new voice and bring together its communities in partnership with the media and institutional players throughout the entire year.

To do this, for the first time ever, an internet radio station will be dedicated entirely to the construction sector. Created in partnership with Webradios Editions, the new media will broadcast podcasts according to a grid that will cover a range of topics around CONSTRUCTION TECH®: Sustainable construction and renovations, Worksites of the Future, Focus on Architecture, Comfort and Energy Efficiency, user-friendly bathrooms and interiors, etc.

The internet radio station will also cover events and news topics with reports, interviews and special programmes.
